Effects of Raising the Taxes of Production and Sale of Natural Gas on the Environment

Natural gas has been used so much because it is easy to transport and is good for environmental conservation. This is because it produces less carbon dioxide, unlike other fuels. In addition, it can be maintained for a long period of time, and there is enough market for the product both domestically and internationally. As a result, many people have been exploiting it, and therefore there is a need for government to regulate its exploitation. One of the ways that the government has done this is to raise the tax associated with the production and sale of natural gas. This is important as it will reduce habitat destruction.

This is so because when the cost of producing the gas is raised, the price of gas will also be high, and therefore many people will be discouraged from using it in their homes, business, or industries and will turn to other sources of fuel. As a result, those selling it will not have a market and so will be discouraged from using it. In addition, those producing it may opt to go for imported ones, and therefore the ones that exist naturally in Israel will not be exploited.

However, this is also not good for the environment. This is so because when the cost of production and sale of natural gas is high, people will turn to other forms of energy, such as coal and gasoline. This happens because the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is not so important in warming the surface of the earth, and this leads to global warming. Moreover, it will lead to air pollution and this will affect the health of the people and may change the weather of the area leading to low production of goods.
