Victims of Date Rape

Date rape is the act of forcefully making someone you know socially to have sex against his or her will. The date rapists can use physical and verbal threats, blackmails, and drugs to trick someone into having sex with them. It applies not only to sexual intercourse but also to all other forms of sex, such as oral or other kinds of sex. In some cases, date rapes may be accompanied by additional violence or additional degradation activities such as urinating on the victim after having oral sex, etc. It occurs to men and women between the ages of 15 to 24. This is a crime, and whoever commits it deserves punishment.

It is important to know that nothing entitles anyone to force a person to perform sex with them, not even in cases where there was previous consensual sex. Without the parties’ consent, forcing sexual contact is a crime. Additionally, date rapes reveal betrayal of trust and can cause eternal emotional suffering. The victim should not be discouraged by existing sexual stereotyping and society’s myths to make the victim endure the emotional trauma. These fictions myths permit competitive and aggressive demand for sex from women. Others believe that it is okay for a man to demand sex if he takes a woman out or offers her gifts. Additionally, women feel that if they had previously encountered sex with their boyfriend, it is justified for the man to force the woman to perform sex against her will.

However, it is important to learn that romance is not about being in power or control, and it does not involve anger or violence. Rape is rape, whichever course it takes. The victim is not to blame, and taking actions against the rapist helps in preventing others from becoming the next victims. The victim should get help and medical attention immediately. The victim should not shower or change clothes to prevent altering with the valuable evidence.
